This tether acts in the same way a seatbelt does, by preventing movement forward and side to side. This prevents your dog from being able to reach windows or the driver, and prevents them from falling into the gap between the seats.
The KONG Ultimate Safety Tether uses the LATCH/ISOFIX/CanFix 3 point anchor system, which is designed for securing infant seats. There are two anchors at the base of the seat and one on the rear. These anchor points have been required in all new cars in the USA since 2002 and the EU since 2006 – please check that your car has these anchor points prior to purchasing.
The design of the belt allows for easy control and positioning. It’s safe and highly adjustable for different sized dogs, and offers you the control that standard seat belt tethers do not.
The car restraint helps to keep your dog in a seat central position to minimize side to side movement and reduce the risk of your dog being thrust into the foot well under braking.
